The historical background of Medalian Jewelry originates since 1801 when the late, Haj Mohammad Reza Medalian (who has not been known as Medalian in that time) started its operation via importing and exporting cashmere and antiques from/to Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India by camels crossing the Trading Silk Road. After many years of activity, his son, Mr.Haj Mahdi Medalian decided to continue his father’s job in 1891. He started to export turquoise to the above mentioned countries in addition to continue his father’s operations. He imported different gold, silver, brass, and bronze medals from many countries to Iran. So King Naseroddin, the Qajar Shah, entitled him as “Medalian”. The title Medalian was registered in his birth certificate as his surname in Reza Shah Era. Haj Mahdi Medalian had six sons, most of whom continued their father’s job. One of his sons named Haj Ahamd Medalian started his activity in this field in 1936 and established two goldsmith’s workshops adjacent to the turquoise workshop. He developed his operations and presence in international markets through cutting turquoise and exporting it to the European and Asian countries. After many years of activity, Haj Ahamd Medalian accompanied with his senior child, Mr. Khalil Medalian founded jewelry at Height Hotel, the greatest Hotel of Mashhad city, and developed his activities in the field of gold and ornaments. They have continued this occupation after the Islamic Revolution.
In 1989, Haj Ahmad Medalian passed away. After his death, his senior son, Mr. Khalil Medalian, developed his operations in the field of ornaments such as diamond, emerald, rube,sapphire, pearl and etc. He followed his father’s path aiming at presenting the most beautiful and modern models with the highest quality in coincidence with the progress of the modern technology and benefiting from the unique Italian machines to produce the jewelry with highest quality. Mr. Khalil Medalian accompanied with his senior child, Ahad Medalian, who has professionally studied and researched about the principles and techniques of identification of the original jewelry, designing and making ornaments, are managing their jewelry located on Edalat Ave , Ahmad Abad Blvd. in Mashhad. They hope that they will be able to produce the best and most beautiful products in order to compete with the European and Asian samples.
